Electric and plug-in hybrid manufacturers
Electromobility is an important part of the strategy of Mercedes-Benz. They started to create their own electric-car platform. The first cars built on this platform will be the EQC. Many more models will follow this first model. From 2015 Mercedes produces a few plug-in hybrid cars, however they had only one fully electric car, the Mercedes B250e, which was built with electric car technologies from Tesla.
Mitsubishi was one of the first automaker which produced an electric car, it was the i-MiEv model. After that they built the plug-in hybrid car, however they didn't iterate on their electric car. From 2020 we could see their new plug-in hybrid car, the Engelberg, but there are no news for a new electric car.
Nissan was one of the first pioneer on the electric car market with it's award-winning Nissan Leaf, which was the best-selling electric vehicle on many markets for many years. Besides that Leaf they have the e-NV200, which is one of the best electric lightweight commercial vehicle. We hope that more electric models will be announced from 2020.
Opel is part of the French PSA group which includes Citroen, Peugeot, DS and Opel since 2018. Opel was an early innovator of plug-in hybrid cars as part of GM (General Motors) with Ampera, then they built the fully electric Ampera-e based on the plug-in hybrid Ampera. Both cars were great one, however the fully electric Ampeara is a rare car in Europe, as they couldn't make profit on this car. In 2018 PSA group bought Opel from GM and they announced that from 2020 many new Opel electric cars will come starting with the fully-electric Opel Corsa.
